Sunday, December 18th

Fourth SUNDAY OF ADVENT

10:30 A.M. WORSHIP WITH CANTATA

SERMON TEXT: Romans 1:8-15

SERMON TITLE:  "if You Want to Make god laugh, tell him your plans"

2016 Financial Update

2016 Expenses:             $246,815

2016 Income:                 $227,920

+/-:                                  -$18,895

As you can see, Fairview's weekly income has fallen short of covering our operating expenses this year. Fortunately, we have had sufficient funds in our savings accounts to cover the deficit (say "amen" somebody!), though those accounts have been severely depleted. Please help narrow our church's budget gap by continuing your faithful financial support throughout the holiday season. Thanks!

Offering Envelopes

If you haven't already done so already, please pick up your 2017 offering envelopes, which are now available downstairs in the foyer.  If you can't find a box with your name on it, please contact Jim Pomager ( ).

Alternate Giving Options

How many of your regular financial commitments -- utility bills, insurance, health club dues, etc. -- do you now pay electronically? Probably a lot. So why not automate your tithes and offerings, as well? Save yourself the hassle of writing a check every week or month by setting up e-giving on the FEPC website (www.fairviewepc.org/give) or by having your bank mail it to the church office.

CHRISTMAS EVE LUMINARIES

Luminaries  will be placed around church for Christmas Eve services.  While we have been blessed to have permanent ones gifted to the church, they do need bulbs and batteries replaced periodically.  If you would like to help by dedicating a luminary please fill out a form located in the church foyer.  $5 per luminary is the suggested donation. Forms must be turned in by Monday, December 19th.

Opportunities to Know

SMALL GROUP STUDIES FOR ALL AGES

Begin at 9:15 A.M. on Sunday Mornings.

Sunday morning small groups will be on break until, January 8th, 2017.

SUNDAY MORNING ADULT STUDY

Have you ever thought that when we pray, our prayers reflect an intimate communication with God and is at the heart of our relationship with Him? Perhaps you think I want to pray, but I don't know how to pray. Perhaps, you feel embarrassed or even intimidated to pray. Sometimes, we just never had anyone teach us to pray. Jesus' own disciples might have felt that way too because that's why they asked Him, "Lord, teach us to pray." If this is you, then consider joining our adult class on Sunday mornings at 9:15 a.m. in Fellowship Hall for a six-week DVD study on prayer.

NEW MEN’S SMALL GROUP

Our newest men's group, M.O.R.A. (Men of Retirement Age), has sprouted.   The group is using the book titled “God’s Words of Life for Men”. This book combines scriptures and inspirational thoughts on a wide variety of topics that men are faced with every day.  Discussion topics include:  anger, strength, work, finances, role-models and integrity just to name a few. For additional information contact Don at or at 610-942-8721.
