This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.
Jesus tells us “This is my Commandment, that you love one another, as I have loved you.” (John 15:12). When we connect, we build relationships, we share our joys and sorrows, we grow to love one another, we obey Christ.
At Fairview Evangelical Presbyterian Church we offer many fellowship opportunities to connect with other believers through many fun events we schedule to get together and fellowship. Food is always a part of our getting together and we have great cooks at Fairview witnessed by our own church cookbook.
Come and join us for many fun times we have together.
Bagels Sundays give our congregants and our guests an opportunity to visit with each other following the Sunday morning Worship Service. Generally they are held on the last Sunday of each month.
Fellowship Dinners are fun events that provide an opportunity to connect over a home-cooked pot-luck style meal. These events are held several times throughout the year.
Music is an integral part of our Worship Service. The choir meets Thursday evenings starting late August at 7:30 pm in the Sanctuary under the direction of Music Director, Clark Lash. Rehearsals for our Christmas Cantata begin in mid-October and all are welcome to join us for that portion of our annual program.
The church fields a softball team in the Downingtown Area Christian Sports League. The team is open to men and women of all ages. Games are generally one night a week (M-Th) beginning the last week in April and running through the end of July for a total of 14 games. Practices begin in early April. This is a great way to connect with sports minded members and families of Fairview, as well as with church members and families from neighboring churches.
Women’s Ministry Events
Our Women’s Ministry brings the women of the church together to encourage their hearts, grow their faith, knit their lives together, and to give them opportunities to love and serve others. The Women’s Ministry activities include an annual retreat, fellowship opportunities throughout the year such as the Fall Gathering, Christmas Get-Together and Mothers’ Day Brunch, and an annual mission project.
The children of the church are our future. In our desire to grow children into faithful adults, Connect is an integral part of their discipleship process as well. We connect our children through Sunday teachings, our spring Easter Egg Hunt, and our annual Vacation Bible School in the summer.
