A New Season at Fairview
Fairview is embarking on an exciting new season, and it's a journey we're all on together as we seek God's will for our church. Your Session is working closely with the EPC to guide us through the transition to calling our next pastor, and they'll be sharing updates with you as they become available.
So, how can you help? First and foremost, pray! We encourage you to pray individually and collectively for:
- The Latham Family as they settle into their next call
- God’s revelation of His will for Fairview
- Peace and unity for our congregation through the changes ahead
- God’s wisdom for our leaders
- Our dedicated church staff and leadership
- A transitional pastor to guide us
- Our next called pastor, whoever they may be
- Strength and endurance to stand in the gap
We also ask everyone to join us following worship every Sunday for a time of prayer in the parlor. This will be a brief time of directed prayer for Fairview to be built up into a beacon of light for our community, for a transitional pastor, and for a permanent pastor. Please remember to keep these specific requests foremost in your personal prayer time as well.
Scriptures for Reflection
As we navigate this new season, we encourage you to reflect on and pray through these scriptures:
- Philippians 4:6-7: "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus."
- 2 Timothy 1:7: "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind."
- Jeremiah 29:11-12: "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.
Let's embrace this new season with open hearts and minds, trusting in God's plan for Fairview!
