In accordance with recommendations from the CDC and guidelines from Pennsylvania government, Session has decided that masks are no longer required in the building for those who have been fully vaccinated.  We are still asking those who have not been vaccinated to wear masks in motion until our statewide numbers hit 70%.  We are grateful for the patience and understanding that so many of you have displayed throughout this confusing season.

new sermon series - proverbs

We like to assume that when we come to Church or when we come to God’s Word, we are seeking transformation, redemption, and reconciliation – but that’s not always the case. Often, we come looking for comfort, for peace, for hope and sometimes, we come looking for some simple guidance toward living a better life. We know that our Faith should be bigger than morality or behavioral improvement – but that doesn’t mean that those things don’t matter.

Into this tension, steps the book of Proverbs, which gives us advice for living a Godly life, a life that chooses the path of wisdom instead of folly. This summer we will see that God has practical advice for us not just in improving the specific areas addressed but also offers a comprehensive approach to living well and standing on God’s Wisdom in every aspect of our lives. Proverbs can be a tricky book to read as it breaks into different sections and uses multiple rhetorical devices; so, as we begin our study this week, please watch the Bible Project’s overview to help give you a better understanding of the structure and major themes we’ll be exploring.

 fairview men's discipleship group

Men of all ages are warmly invited to attend Fairview’s Men’s Discipleship Group.  Formed almost three years ago,  FMDG meets at the church on the first and third Tuesday of each month from 7:30 pm to 9 pm.  Most recently the group completed a 10 Lesson series on the Gospel of John.  Beginning on Tuesday, June 15th, we will begin our study of the Letter of Paul to the Romans.  Whether you are a new, or renewed believer, or have been walking with Christ for decades, the study of Romans is a great way to grow in your knowledge and understanding of how God gives salvation to everyone who believes.

Please come and experience genuine Christian fellowship and spirited, insightful discussion as we continue our individual walks of faith on the path to discipleship in Christ our Lord and Savior.

 bridge of Hope news

Churches Respond.
Homelessness Ends.
Hope Begins.

Christian faith communities have a unique opportunity and role in ending the homelessness crisis in America today. Bridge of Hope trains and equips local Christian faith communities (churches, Bible study groups, house churches, etc.) from a wide variety of Christian traditions to respond to homelessness in practical, tangible, and neighboring ways.

UPDATE:

Our Bridge of Hope mom, and her two little boys are set for the warm summer days to come.  Thank you to all that provided an AC, or fan; they are being used!

Leta has a lot of things in movement.  She does see God’s hand at work in her life.  She recently had to get a newer vehicle since the van was going to be costly to repair with no guarantees that next week another $2,000 would have to be put into it.  So along with the newer vehicle came the payment book too.  7 months ago this would have been one of those devastating times for Leta –one of those times that feels like when you are down so low already and then this new $$ issue—hopeless and helpless.  But she got thru with our neighboring assistance and Bridge of Hope helped with a down payment on the car.

Please keep Leta and her boys in your prayers…she needs a different job, one that she isn’t standing on concrete all day…and God’s guidance overall.

Also, there is a need for another local Bridge of Hope mom that has recently begun the program.  She is in need of a vehicle—if anyone can assist please have them contact Brenda Stauffer; and please spread the word too.

Please continue to keep Leta and her boys in your prayers.   Leta is hoping to find a new Full-time job that will hopefully have her off her feet more, be able to build financial savings for future expenses and giver her family a day trip sometime soon.

And if you would like to join Fairview’s Neighboring Volunteers with Bridge of Hope, please reach out to Brenda Stauffer at 484-678-0436.
