Weekly Memory Work

Recent Personnel Change

After prayer and deliberation, the Session met with Clark Lash and it was mutually decided he will no longer serve as music director. We thank Clark for his time at Fairview and ask you to keep the Lash family in your prayers. We are blessed to have Pamela Johnson and Linda Gyrath stepping up to expand their interim duties.

The Session will be re-evaluating our current music program to determine the direction and staffing for this ministry. If you have any thoughts about our music ministry please speak with a member of Session.

WHAT'S WITH THIS PER CAPITA APPORTIONMENT ENVELOPE???

Among your 2020 offering envelopes you will find one labelled “Per Capita Apportionment.” What is a per capita apportionment, anyway? It's a term our former denomination, the PC(USA), uses for what is essentially a yearly tax it imposes on each member of its churches. Our current denomination, the EPC, does not believe that one "court" of the church has the right to put a tax on another. So instead it asks for a voluntary contribution, which it calls a "per member asking" (PMA), from local congregations to fund its mission. Unfortunately, our envelope provider still prints the old, incorrect term on our envelopes -- sorry for the confusion.

Whether you use offering envelopes or not, the EPC PMA for 2020 is $36. Please support our denomination's work by contributing the PMA for all members of your household. (For instance, a family of four would give $144.) You can submit the PMA by using the per capita apportionment envelope, by writing "PMA" in the memo line of a personal check, or by selecting the PMA option from the Give to dropdown in Tithe.ly (if you want to give electronically, see our Give page).

Calling all Musicians

“Worship the LORD with gladness; come before Him with joyful songs.” – Psalm 100:2

Calling all musicians! In planning music for worship for the spring, all musicians are invited to participate in any of the following ways: singing in the choir, singing in the cantata on Palm Sunday, singing an occasional solo or in a small group, or playing an instrument. Whether you currently serve in music ministry, have sung or played in the past, or never have but want to try it out – you are valuable to the team and are welcome to join us!

Regular rehearsals for choir are held on Thursday evenings at 7:30. Palm Sunday Cantata rehearsals start at 7:15 on February 20.

Please contact Linda Gyrath /   or Pamela Johnson / to serve in this ministry.

Family Night... fun for all ages

Sending Love to Our College Students

It’s time to prepare our boxes filled with notes and cookies for our college students!

PARENTS OF COLLEGE STUDENTS... please take a quick moment to complete this form, so we have the current details for  your young adult.

NOTE MAKING SUPPLIES ARE IN THE FOYER...
Be sure to take a few minutes to draft a valentine for Fairview's college students. All notes and cookie donations must be in by Sunday February 9th.  Boxes will be shipped on the 10th.

Thank you Nancy Slater for your dedication to this ministry!

Food Pantry Collection

We continue to collect pantry items that are donated to the Glenmoore Food Pantry which is served by the Salvation Army. If anyone is curious how the food pantry hands out food, the folks working at the food pantry put together boxes of a variety of items for each family to pick up. Patrons using the food pantry do not select what items they will receive. Thank you to everyone who has donated... for your generosity to this mission!
