new sermon series

We are entering an interesting season and by season I don’t mean Winter or even Epiphany but the season of New Year’s Resolutions when we look back at our previous year and our current lifestyle and try to make changes. It’s interesting because when we make a resolution, we are committing to something that we value, some attribute or characteristic like the desire to get in shape or to read more. This sermon series is something of Christian New Year’s Resolution – what are the values we need to commit to both as individuals and also as a church here at Fairview? What are the things that should guide our passion, our time, our effort in the coming year?  As we’ll see over the next 6 weeks, following Christ means we must to be committed to growth, worship, stewardship, mission, community, and renewal.

 bridge of Hope news

Our Bridge of Hope Mom, Leta, had a very blessed Christmas this year and her new year is off to a great start.  She sends her sincere thanks to all of Fairview for the prayers,  financial contributions, and not to mention all of the household items people have provided to her.  Leta feels very blessed and she’s appreciative of everything.  Because of Fairview’s generosity she was able to spend Christmas with her family in Dauphin County.  Then, between Christmas and New Year’s she got a job!!  YES, she now has a job – she began working the week between Christmas and New Year’s.

The next step up the mountain for Leta is getting on a subsidized daycare program, the one she was on expired on 12/31/2020.  She loves their apartment and there are times she thinks back to where she was and she really loves their apartment and Bridge of Hope!!  Please continue to keep Leta and her boys in your prayers.  And if you would like to join Fairview’s Neighboring Volunteers with Bridge of Hope, please reach out to Brenda Stauffer at 484-678-0436.
