Third SUNDAY AFTER EPIPHANY

9:15 A.M. SMALL GROUPS FOR ALL AGES

10:30 A.M. WORSHIP

SERMON TEXT: Acts 19:11-20

SERMON TITLE:  "harry, hogwarts, imagination and the unseen spiritual world"

WHAT'S WITH THIS PER CAPITA APPORTIONMENT ENVELOPE???

Among your 2017 offering envelopes you will find one labelled “Per Capita Apportionment.” What is a per capita apportionment, anyway? It's a term our former denomination, the PC(USA), uses for what is essentially a yearly tax it imposes on each member of its churches. Our current denomination, the EPC, does not believe that one "court" of the church has the right to put a tax on another. So instead it asks for a voluntary contribution, which it calls a "per member asking" (PMA), from local congregations to fund its mission. Unfortunately, our envelope provider still prints the old, incorrect term on our envelopes -- sorry for the confusion.

Whether you use offering envelopes or not, the EPC PMA for 2017 is $36. Please support our denomination's work by contributing the PMA for all members of your household. (For instance, a family of four would give $144.) You can submit the PMA by using the per capita apportionment envelope, by writing "PMA" in the memo line of a personal check, or by selecting the PMA option from the Give to dropdown in Tithe.ly (if you want to give electronically). Any questions? Contact Jim Pomager at  . Thanks!

SMALL GROUP STUDIES FOR ALL AGES

Begin at 9:15 A.M. on Sunday Mornings.

SUNDAY MORNING ADULT STUDY

The Parables of Jesus – RC Sproul

During Jesus’ earthly ministry, one of the primary ways He would instruct His disciples was through parables. People would gather from far and wide in order to listen to what Jesus said about the kingdom of God, and the most common way He would explain the kingdom was in parables. But what does God want us to learn from these parables? In this series, Dr. R.C. Sproul examines several parables of Jesus, exploring the rich truths they reveal about who Jesus is and what He came to achieve through His life, death, and resurrection. If this is you, then consider joining our adult class on Sunday mornings at 9:15 a.m. in Fellowship Hall for a six-week DVD study on prayer.

NEW MEN’S SMALL GROUP

Our newest men's group, M.O.R.A. (Men of Retirement Age), has sprouted.   The group is using the book titled “God’s Words of Life for Men”. This book combines scriptures and inspirational thoughts on a wide variety of topics that men are faced with every day.  Discussion topics include:  anger, strength, work, finances, role-models and integrity just to name a few.  This group will meet the 2nd and 4th Wednesday evening of the month at 7:30 p.m. at FEPC.  For additional information email Don or him at 610-942-8721
